翻譯技巧——翻譯也可以非常生動(dòng)
        和寫(xiě)作一樣，翻譯語(yǔ)言同樣可以生動(dòng)、形象。雖然翻譯語(yǔ)言受到原文表達的限制，但由于語(yǔ)言中大量存在同義詞和同義表達現象，翻譯在選擇詞匯時(shí)，同樣有著(zhù)是否生動(dòng)形象的問(wèn)題。 在譯題一中，與“逃離”對應的詞語(yǔ)就有flee, escape from, run away from等，選擇flee是比較好的，可以反映年輕白領(lǐng)們當前對“北上廣”的恐慌，也符合新聞?dòng)⒄Z(yǔ)的要求?！皦?mèng)想之地”有網(wǎng)友翻譯成Neverland，比較形象，用該詞翻譯還可以隱指這些白領(lǐng)的夢(mèng)想已經(jīng)破滅?！鞍卜抛约旱那啻骸边@一說(shuō)法，在英語(yǔ)中較難表達，網(wǎng)友提供的翻譯中較好的包括：to burn their youth, to find their niche等，但筆者想到了respite一詞，翻譯成to give respite to their youth，是否妥當，還請大家討論。至于第二段，翻譯的時(shí)候要進(jìn)行一些調整。所謂的個(gè)案就是cases，從文意上看，媒體報道了一些個(gè)案，但并沒(méi)有統計數字表明這是一種趨勢，所以筆者使用了fall short of a trend來(lái)翻譯?！翱陬^抗議”則用voice their protest來(lái)傳達。在最后一句話(huà)中，“擠進(jìn)來(lái)”一詞有網(wǎng)友用flock in也是很形象的。Skye11p則用了they will be reduced to the “besieged city”來(lái)形象地翻譯最后一句，而且值得一提的是，該網(wǎng)友提供的譯文整體水平很高，是相當成熟的譯文。筆者提供的譯文盡量提供自己的譯法，從而避免整個(gè)淪落成對網(wǎng)友譯文的拼湊式抄襲 。
　　參考譯文：
　　Recently, there goes around among white collars a new catchphrase, “to flee BSG”. The initialism stands for “Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou”, three largest cities in China. Due to escalating housing price, difficult job hunting, and high pressure of “survival” in these cities, white collars start to flee the Neverland they have had in mind. They now move to second- and third-tier cities or back to their hometowns to “give respite to their youth”. Though cases are reported on the media, no one knows exactly how many have left (or are leaving). By using the word “flee” to nail down their action, young white collars mean to voice their protest against the high home prices and high life pressure in big cities, but the action falls short of a trend. On the contrary, while some are leaving, still more people are pouring in. In this sense, big cities are really “besieged cities”.
　　第二篇文字的翻譯同樣涉及形象詞匯的使用問(wèn)題?！巴鉃惫潭ǚg成Bund，但根據英語(yǔ)的行文習慣，可以換稱(chēng)為the waterfront和riverfront。華爾街的“金融?！钡袼芙凶鯟harging Bull，這里應借用而不應該另外翻譯成Financial Bull?！敖?jīng)濟界人士”通常不翻譯成economic circles而是翻譯成economists?！巴鉃┙鹑趲А笔墙?jīng)濟學(xué)界人士提出的一個(gè)說(shuō)法，可以考慮介紹到英語(yǔ)中，從而保留原文的隱喻，筆者試著(zhù)譯成Bund of financial concentration。最后,“加快躍升國際金融中心的雄心壯志”一句比較難以處理，涉及對上海作為金融中心地位的理解，原文的作者和網(wǎng)友的翻譯普遍認為上海目前還不是國際金融中心，實(shí)際上這種看法是有誤解的。上海曾經(jīng)是，而且現在已經(jīng)是國際金融中心之一，據倫敦一家機構的報告，排名世界11位，所以從對外宣傳的角度，譯為register another leap in the most ambitious international financial centers。
　　參考譯文：
　　The Bund, Shanghai’s landmark waterfront district, reopens on March 28, 2010 after a three-year comprehensive renovation. Not only is the splendid riverfront of the city prepared to welcome 70 million visitors to the World Expo, but also it will welcome a younger and more energetic “Charging Bull”, created by the same designer of the bronze for Wall Street. To cite the concerned economists, Shanghai aims at creating a “Bund of financial concentration” by rectructing the historic waterfront. It also shows that Shanghai has taken the lead in China in changing the economic growth pattern and will register another leap in the most ambitious international financial centers.
　　在譯題三中，首先遇到“網(wǎng)絡(luò )成癮”和“病理性上網(wǎng)”這樣兩個(gè)術(shù)語(yǔ)，網(wǎng)友提供的翻譯中，對第一個(gè)的把握較好，譯成internet (online) addiction (disorder)都是可以的，不過(guò)internet addiction disorder已經(jīng)成為較固定的說(shuō)法；第二個(gè)術(shù)語(yǔ)的翻譯，不能只說(shuō)pathological internet，應該補充use or surfing這樣的詞才完整。專(zhuān)業(yè)論文中使用pathological internet use的較常見(jiàn)。還有就是“改稱(chēng)”，有一個(gè)英語(yǔ)表達法就是substitute A for B, 在翻譯的時(shí)候要注意是“病理性上網(wǎng)”代替了“網(wǎng)絡(luò )成癮”。第二段開(kāi)頭一句“由于切近日常生活”，要講清楚是誰(shuí)的日常生活，因為英語(yǔ)很重視指代關(guān)系。還有就是“網(wǎng)友”的翻譯，在該文語(yǔ)境中，不應該是net friends，而應該是net users或netizens。下面則涉及“專(zhuān)業(yè)人士”與“非專(zhuān)業(yè)人士”的對應翻譯，可以使用laymen對specialists或non-professionals對professionals來(lái)翻譯。最后是“不無(wú)裨益”這一成語(yǔ)，在英語(yǔ)中不必翻的太過(guò)復雜，使用了good一詞。
